With over 15 years of experience producing innovative work in interactive, broadband, film and television, Shawn Natko has helped some of the world’s leading companies redefine themselves in an ever-evolving digital world. He has worked to advance iconic brands such as Nike, MTV, IBM, Ericsson and Discovery Channel.

As a producer in the Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s New York Convergence Lab, Shawn worked with filmmakers, educators and technologists to bring to life some of the earliest interactive television prototypes. During the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, he was part of a camera crew under the direction of legendary Olympic documentarian Bud Greenspan.

Working on the Nike team at R/GA, Shawn oversaw all production of NikeBasketball.com, a critical marketing vehicle for the brand’s web communications, TV advertising, wireless initiatives, celebrity sponsorships, events and product launches. He spearheaded the establishment of a digital identity for LeBron James before the future global icon even set foot on an NBA court. He also produced multiple data-visualization features, which were instrumental in expanding the digital landscape of Nike Basketball. The Family connected Nike Basketball players through visual links to their shoes, college, NBA team and hometown. The Sole System was an online universe that served as a companion to the book Sole Provider, allowing users to explore profiles for every shoe created during Nike Basketball’s first 30 years.

While at MTV, Shawn headed production of MTV Overdrive, one of the first successful examples of broadband television. In addition to launching new content channels, Shawn acted as a liaison between the broadband production team and ad sales team, developing compelling video content to deliver a sponsor’s core message.

Shawn has received numerous awards for his work in the interactive space, including Clios, Cannes Cyber Lions and One Show Awards.
